James and Kyndra Light. How they run their company
Precision Building and Renovating is a family owned and operated LLC founded in 2007 by James and Kyndra Light. They see their business as not just a means of living, but enjoyment of craftsmanship and vehicle of service to the community.
James has been immersed in the world of design and construction since he was a young boy working at his father's side through his early years. He attended Flagler College where he obtained a degree in business administration as well a certified builder's license. He and his father still work side by side and you will often see them on job sites together. James wears all the hard hats from pulling permits, to working with plans designers, to digging ditches. He leads through action is never afraid of a challenge.
Kyndra holds a dual BA in Humanities and Women's Studies as well as a MS degree in Leadership and Policy from Florida State University. She is an advocate, not just within the company, but the industry as well, for a tolerant and diverse workplace and environmental responsibility. You will find her in a range of settings from speaking at business events, to volunteering for schools, to, yes, even cleaning job sites! She is a driving force and always able to contribute creative solutions
James and Kyndra have three beautiful children and a sweet english mastiff named Winston. Dog lovers will have ample opportunity to meet Winston as he rides around with James often! Locally, the Light family loves cheering on the 'Noles and enjoys taking camping trips when they are able to get away.

Precision Building and Renovating runs their job sites with integrity and it is their policy to never allow any worker or subcontractor into your home without a full background check. Precision Building is a proud member of the National, Florida, and Tallahassee Builder's Associations. They also serve on both the Remodel and Green Building Councils in Tallahassee.
